Freixo Archeological Area - Freixo, Marco de Canaveses:
Excavations from the old city of Tongobriga, which originated from the Roman occupation of the Iberian Peninsula.
Today, you can see the excavation efforts, which started in August 1980, in a place called "Chapel dos Mouros", a name given by the locals to the then-visible part of the structures.
The area of about 326,000 square meters encompasses ruins of a place of social gatherings, residences, a thermal area and a necropolis.
Castro de Arados (Located in Monte do Ladaria, Alpendorada e Matos)
Located on an elevation of about 500 meters, it contains remains of fortresses and residences. To date, it has not been excavated for archeological purposes on a systematic basis.
Casa inacabada de Vila Boa de Quires ("Obras do Fidalgo")
Noble unfinished house, dating back to the middle of the eighteen century.
The house has unusually thick walls and a straight-line design. Any visitor will be taken back by the grandiose of the, principal side of the house, which fits into the baroque style. According to the legend, a nobleman hired a Spanish architect to design the house. While the house was being built, the architect died and so the house was never finished.
